A West Ham board confidant has hinted at three more signings before the transfer deadline including a striker who is perfect for David Moyes.

West Ham may have taken their time but the summer transfer window has slowly but surely started to fall into place for the club.

It was always going to be a difficult summer following the sale of Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105m.

How do you replace a player like Rice was the big fear. Especially when clubs know how much money you have burning a hole in your pocket.

Well it seems West Ham are determined to prove they can not only replace Rice but vastly improve the team in the process.

Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse and Konstantinos Mavropanos have arrived using the Rice funds thus far.

And the most exciting news yet of West Ham’s summer window emerged overnight regarding signing number four.

But the Hammers aim to add another two on top of that before next Friday night.

A West Ham board confidant has hinted at three more signings before the transfer deadline including a striker who is perfect for David Moyes.

Sean Whetstone believes West Ham will look to make a fourth big money signing, a loan capture and seal a free transfer before the window slams shut in eight days.

And he has suggested that West Ham are eyeing deals for Mohammed Kudus, Youssef En-Nesyri and Jesse Lingard to complete the club’s summer business.

“After spending nearly £77m this summer West Ham have around £52m to spend excluding add ons inbound and outbound,” Whetstone said.

“That is probably one quality forward signing, one loan signing and a free transfer. Fill in the blanks…”

With West Ham now said to be on the verge of an exciting £38m initial deal with Ajax for Kudus, that would leave £14m in the kitty.

Hammers News would suggest the club might be able to agree a loan with an obligation to buy Youssef En-Nesyri at a set price with Sevilla.

But the reportedly cash-strapped club are showing a big interest in fan favourite Pablo Fornals, who faces even more competition for his place if Kudus and Lingard sign.

So it could be that West Ham pay Sevilla the remaining £14m with Fornals making up the difference in the deal for En-Nesyri – whose aerial prowess, tireless workrate and rapid pace make him ideally suited to Moyes and his preferred system and style of play.

The Scot looks set to make his decision on Lingard at the end of this week or early next.
