As reported by the Daily Mail, West Ham are ‘hopeful’ of sending Reece Oxford out on loan this season.
The 19-year-old spent the entirety of the last term at Bundesliga outfit Borussia Monchengladbach.
It had initially been thought that Manuel Pellegrini was after keeping Oxford in his squad for 2018/19.

But now it has transpired that the Chilean is prepared to sanction a temporary move away for the youngster.
Supposedly ‘a host of clubs’ in Germany, Spain and France are closely monitoring his situation.
An underwhelming progression
The teenager made his debut for the club aged just 16 years and 198 days.
There had been extremely high hopes for Oxford following his burst on to the scene in 2015.
Things haven’t quite panned out as expected though, with the young Englishman having failed to kick on.

To date, Oxford has only made 17 appearances across all competitions for the club – with many having anticipated more for him by this point.
For one reason or another, previous managers simply haven’t afforded Oxford the game time many expected.
Are West Ham being too hasty wanting to loan him out?
If reports are true that the club wants to loan him out again, then that’s a questionable decision.
It’s early doors but the team are struggling at the moment, especially in holding midfield.
Captain Mark Noble has made a concerning start, and Fabian Balbuena has also looked a little shaky.

Oxford can operate as a central defender and a holding midfielder, meaning he could provide a fresh option.
Perhaps in the midst of this ‘mini-crisis’ one good thing to come out of it could be the rejuvenation of Oxford.
