Declan Rice is one of three talented English youngsters that Manchester United will try to sign this summer, according to The Sun.
Manchester United are ready to spend over £160m on Declan Rice and two other English starlets to bolster their squad for the 2019/20 season.
Borussia Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho and Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka are also on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s summer wish-list.
Sancho is valued at £80m, while Rice and Wan-Bissaka are both rated at £40m. Leicester City’s Harry Maguire is an alternative option for the Red Devils and is rated at £50m.
Declan Rice worth more than £40m
The reported £40m valuation of Rice is surely wide of the mark. West Ham must dig their heels in and refuse to sell their prize asset unless a mammoth bid comes in.
Rice is a regular in the West Ham side and is proven to be among the top performing defensive midfielders in the country.
The 20-year-old already has more than nearly 70 West Ham appearances to his name – the vast majority of which he has occupied that holding midfield role.
And his fine performances have even led to an England call-up. The Londoner recently earned his first two England caps in the Euro 2020 qualifiers after switching allegiance from the Republic of Ireland.
Given his youth, proven quality and the fact that he is homegrown, Rice should be valued much higher than £40m. And West Ham should refuse to entertain such an offer from Man United.
