West Ham are running the rule over Mich’el Parker during a trial period.
According to reliable Hammers insider EXWHUEmployee (on The West Ham Way podcast on Phoenix FM, 6/11), Parker is currently with the club on trial.
Parker is a free agent and West Ham want to take a closer look at him. He has teamed up with Dmitri Halajko’s high-performing U23 team in a bid to earn a contract in East London.
However, EXWHUEmployee added that he hasn’t impressed so far. The word from the club is that he is unlikely to earn himself a West Ham contract on the back of his trial.
Who is Mich’el Parker?
Parker is currently a free agent after he was released by Millwall in the summer. Since West Ham’s bitter rivals let him go, the 21-year-old has been on the lookout for a new club.
He plays in central defence, which is an area West Ham are looking to strengthen. Goncalo Cardoso has been a regular at the back for Halajko’s team this season. But with Alese out on loan and Tunji Akinola injured, West Ham have limited options at centre-half.
Parker will be eager to impress, having been released by Arsenal in 2014 and Liverpool in 2018. This could be his last chance to make it with a Premier League academy. But the English defender faces an uphill battle to impress West Ham, as per EXWHUEmployee.
