Manuel Pellegrini failed to confirm that Declan Rice would be a West Ham player next season, The Mirror reports. But West Ham insider EXWHUEmployee has moved to ease those concerns on Twitter.

Rice has had an unforgettable season. The 20-year-old has played 38 games this season, scoring his first two goals and winning three awards – including the Players’ Player of the Year – at the end of season ceremony.

He has also been recognised with international caps. After switching allegiance from the Republic of Ireland, Rice has earned his first two caps (including one start) for England.

Manuel Pellegrini on Declan Rice

When quizzed about Rice’s future, Pellegrini responded (quotes via The Mirror): “It’s impossible, I cannot know the future. He is, of course, a player who has had a brilliant season, who is 20 years old and an English player who has a lot of qualities.

“Maybe some of the big teams, or all of them, will want him. But that is one thing – the other is whether he will stay here or he goes, and I cannot say at this moment.”

EXWHUEmployee reassures fans

EXWHUEmployee – a reliable insider on Twitter – told his followers that they should not panic about these words from Pellegrini.

Instead, Rice will only leave West Ham if a bid of £85m or more comes in. And the academy graduate and three-times Young Hammer of the Year is happy in East London.

West Ham fans have high hopes for Rice’s future. After signing a new contract earlier this season, they want the England midfielder to become a legend at West Ham.
