West Ham United seem to be closing in on a deal to sign James Ward-Prowse from Southampton.

The Athletic’s David Ornstein has claimed that Saturday could be James-Ward Prowse‘s last game for Southampton, with a summer transfer window move to West Ham in the pipeline.

The Saints play host to Norwich City on Saturday afternoon, and according to David Ornstein, it could be the 11-capped England international’s last game for the club.

A midfield trio of the Southampton star, Lucas Paqueta and Edson Alvarez is certainly good enough to compete against the very best.

Ward-Prowse would not be the marquee signing that West Ham fans are crying out for, that’s for sure.

However, he would be a very solid, workmanlike addition to Moyes’s ranks and he’d suit the way that we play as a team.
