West Ham United have failed to meet the deadline to sign Serhou Guirassy for a bargain fee.
According to a report from Kicker, West Ham target Serhou Guirassy was available for just £13 million – up until last night that is.

The East London outfit have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old for quite some time now – and tried to sign him back in the summer of 2020.

Hammers boss David Moyes desperately needs to sign a new striker in the summer transfer window with Gianluca Scamacca having left to join Atalanta, and Michail Antonio being linked with an exit as well.
Guirassy would have been the perfect signing for West Ham as far as I’m concerned. However, it seems as though the Hammers have missed the boat…
Big Moyes blow as West Ham miss deadline to sign Serhou Guirassy for bargain £13m fee
Kicker claim that the Guinea international’s release clause has now expired.
So if West Ham do want to sign him, we’ll have to pay a lot more than £13 million.
Missing out on Guirassy is a big blow as far as I’m concerned. The 27-year-old stands at 6ft 2in tall and is incredibly strong in the air.
He’s quick along the ground, strong in the challenge and does not stop working by making tireless runs into the channels.

Guirassy scored an impressive 14 goals in 29 games for Stuttgart as well last season (Transfermarkt).
On paper, he’s the absolute perfect striker for a David Moyes system.
And the opportunity to sign him for £13 million surely should have been grasped with both hands by he Scot.
However, the bottom line is that maybe Moyes just didn’t want him in the first place. If he did, the Hammers would have surely activated his buyout clause.
