David Moyes has a huge Europa Conference League final clash with Fiorentina on June 7th to prepare for. And there are fears from Everton and Leeds that the Scot may field a weakened team against Leicester.

Flynn Downes has been speaking to the Hammers’ official website about our upcoming clash with Leicester on Sunday.

And the 24-year-old insisted that whoever plays against the Foxes will be well up for it:

“It’s a chance for a few of us to show what we can ahead of Prague. It been chaos and feels like every three days, we have had a game over the last weeks, but I don’t mind it. I prefer playing and getting involved on the pitch rather than just training.”

So judging by those comments from Downes, even if Moyes does make changes to his starting XI, the players selected will have a real point to prove.

In fact, it might be better for Everton and Leeds if the Hammers boss does field a team with some of the fringe players, because it could be argued that if our strongest XI starts the match, they will all be going through the motions trying to avoid injury.

The comments from West Ham ace Flynn Downes will be music to Everton fans’ ears ahead of Premier League judgement day.

If the Hammers get a result against Leicester, it will do the Toffees a massive favour, there’s no doubt about that.
