With the first-team struggling, West Ham fans could find some consolation in the performances of the under-23 side.
West Ham’s academy side picked up their second Premier League 2 win of the season – both of which have come away from home.
After beating Tottenham Hotspur 3-1 on the opening day, the young Hammers triumphed over Liverpool yesterday with a 2-1 win.
Captain Reece Oxford headed the Irons into the lead and Joe Powell’s free-kick put them back ahead after Liverpool had equalised.

West Ham have had some positive performances this term; Nathan Trott was impressive between the sticks, tt was Oxford’s second goal of the season and Xande Silva has scored five in four games.
In contrast, West Ham’s senior side have lost their first four matches.
Defeats to Liverpool, Bournemouth, Arsenal and Wolves have left Manuel Pellegrini’s men without a point after four games.
Some fans have been calling for the under-23s to be handed senior opportunities. Here are some of the best replies after West Ham’s youth side beat Liverpool 2-1 away from home.
Put the u21s in the senior team and we might get a win this season

Maybe the 1st team should be made to start watching their games just to see what it means to put on a West Ham shirt
