David Moyes achieved his primary objective at West Ham but there was a very clear reason he was replaced by Manuel Pellegrini.

The Scot is not capable of putting together a side that plays attractive, high-tempo football. Pellegrini has proved he can do exactly that by winning the Premier League with Manchester City.

It has taken a while to get going; it was always going to. But the demolition of Manchester United on Saturday felt like the moment Pellegrini’s attacking philosophy truly arrived at the London Stadium.

The Hammers took the game to their opponents from the off; the goals that bookended the first half were more than deserved and didn’t let up in the second period.

The fans seem to agree that the West Ham way is back under Pellegrini. A clip was posted of a passage of play from Saturday; showing a flowing passage of football and the supporters loved it.
