There is one West Ham player who needs to make a huge impression against Leicester on Sunday, if he is to make the Europa Conference League final starting XI.
The 26-year-old German has been superb for West Ham over the past three games, and the Czech Republic international will really have his work cut-out if he is to start out in Prague in two week’s time…
West Ham ace under huge pressure to perform if he’s to start Europa Conference League final
Coufal absolutely must make a big impression against the Foxes on Sunday at the King Power Stadium, if he is to force his way into Moyes’s starting lineup out in Prague.
Dropping Kehrer would be very harsh indeed considering his brilliant performances over the past few weeks. However the same could be said for Coufal – the 30-year-old has rediscovered his best form for the Hammers since the turn of the year.
In all honesty, it is a really nice problem for Moyes to have. The former Slavia Prague right-back will be absolutely desperate to play the final in his home city, whilst Kehrer will obviously not want to relinquish his starting spot.
The rest of the team pretty much picks itself – Alphonse Areola, Kurt Zouma, Nayef Aguerd, Aaron Cresswell, Tomas Soucek, Lucas Paqueta, Declan Rice, Said Benrahma, Jarrod Bowen and Michail Antonio.
The game out in Prague will be our biggest as a club since the FA Cup final in 2006. Moyes absolutely has to get his starting XI and tactics 100% spot on if we are to win.
And I feel as though he’ll be very tempted to bring Coufal into the side. However, the 30-year-old’s performance against Leicester this weekend will have a huge bearing on his chances of making the final.
