Andriy Yarmolenko scored to help fire Ukraine into the European Championships next year.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 700th career goal but this was overshadowed by Ukraine’s performance. Yarmolenko’s side moved eight points clear at the top of qualifying Group C to secure qualification.
This leaves Portugal and Serbia scrapping it out for second qualifying spot in this group. Yarmolenko played his part by scoring Ukraine’s second goal. This was a continuation of his fine Hammers form.
The 29-year-old stepped up for the Ukrainians in the 27th minute. He timed his run to perfection and swept the low cross into the bottom corner with his lethal left foot.
West Ham fans have seen the best of Yarmolenko again this season. He has bounced back from a horrendous injury and now he is scoring goals for club and country. If he can stay fit, Yarmolenko could help West Ham reach new heights this season.
The club’s official Twitter account shared a video of Yarmolenko’s goal with the fans. Here are some West Ham fans reacting to the Ukraine star’s goal and massive result.
So many people wrote Yarmolenko off when he took a few games to get back up to speed with PL football after missing so many months last season; people now seeing exactly what he brings to the team. Huge season ahead if he carries on how he started. Great asset to the club.

Watch Snodgrass you have to run into good positions to have any chance of scoring, not be so far behind play that no one knows you are even on the pitch
