Declan Rice has won his first ever call-up to the England national team, the FA’s official website has announced.

Gareth Southgate has included Rice in his England squad to take on Czech Republic and Montenegro at the end of this month.

Rice has only just switched his allegiance from the Republic of Ireland to England, having won three friendly caps for the Boys in Green.

But the 20-year-old has now earned a well-deserved call-up to the England senior squad, having impressed for West Ham all season.

England have struggled in this department in the past and it is widely believed that Rice is the long-term solution to this problem position.

West Ham fans are understandably very proud of their academy graduate’s achievement and believe this call-up is an adequate reward for his excellent form this season.

Below are several things West Ham fans are saying about Rice’s inclusion in the England squad for the Euro 2020 qualifiers.
