West Ham United comfortably beat Manchester United on Sunday but it looked to have come at a cost.

West Ham beat the Red Devils 2-0 at the London Stadium to move up to fifth in the table after six games.

Superb goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Aaron Cresswell in either half did the job for Manuel Pellegrini’s men.

Sour notes for happy Hammers

There were some sour notes for the Hammers, though.

Key playmaker Manuel Lanzini missed the game through injury.

And both Ryan Fredericks and Felipe Anderson were substituted after picking up knocks.

Both players have been in great form during West Ham’s six-game unbeaten run.

And Hammers fans were left biting their nails over the injuries following the memorable victory.

Insider delivers update on trio

But while both Anderson and Fredericks are not believed to be too serious, Lanzini could be out for another three to four weeks.

That’s according to reliable West Ham insider ExWHUemployee who took to Twitter to deliver an update on the trio on Sunday evening.

“He is out for three-four weeks,” ExWHUemployee said when asked about Lanzini’s current injury status.

“Club seem to think it’s nothing serious with him (Anderson) and Fredericks at moment but will check tomorrow (Monday).”

Wilshere and Fornals can soften Lanzini blow

The news about Lanzini is a huge blow to West Ham.

But Jack Wilshere looked in good shape when he came on against Manchester United and will now get his chance to shine.

Pablo Fornals also looks to be slowly but surely adjusting to life in English football.

The Spaniard showed some excellent touches and bravery receiving the ball in difficult areas against Manchester United.

He will only get better with every game as his strength increases.
