Pellegrini confirms Cresswell is an injury doubt for Cardiff clash

Manuel Pellegrini has admitted that West Ham could be without Aaron Cresswell for tomorrow’s game against Cardiff City.

West Ham face Cardiff in the Premier League tomorrow night at The London Stadium, aiming for back-to-back wins.

After beating Newcastle United 3-0 at St James’ Park, confidence will be high.

But Cardiff will be buoyed by their recent win over Wolves and they will look to continue their momentum.

Ahead of the game, West Ham have one fresh injury concern; Cresswell may have to sit out.

Cresswell limped off in the second half against Newcastle with Arthur Masuaku replacing him.

Given Masuaku’s poor form this season and Cresswell’s impressive cameo against the Magpies, this injury is a major blow for Pellegrini.

Pellegrini has been concerned about the left-back spot but Cresswell’s return to form looked like a welcome boost.

However, the 28-year-old has picked up a hamstring injury and he will be assessed before tomorrow’s game.

In his pre-match press conference, reported via, Pellegrini said: “Cresswell has a hamstring injury. We shall see him tomorrow and make the last decision.”

Masuaku is in line to take back the starting spot if Cresswell is not fit in time.

Other injury news

Aside from the Cresswell blow, West Ham have no fresh injury concerns.

Andy Carroll and Jack Wilshere are now fully back after both being named in the squad at the weekend.

Manuel Lanzini, Carlos Sanchez, Winston Reid and Andriy Yarmolenko remain out with long-term injuries.
