Michail Antonio has posted a picture of himself recovering from his injury on Twitter.
Antonio is on an exercise bike as he steps up his rehabilitation programme. The popular Hammers winger has been out since suffering an injury against Newport County in the EFL Cup.
The 29-year-old picked up a hamstring injury against the Exiles and had to undergo surgery. This was a major blow to Manuel Pellegrini’s plans as West Ham lost their quick and strong wide-man.
‘Giving it everything’
Antonio remains in high spirits despite his injury. He is not set to return until the end of 2019 or the start of 2020 but he has given West Ham fans an update on social media.
Accompanying the picture of him on the exercise machine, Antonio said: “No stopping my recovery, giving it everything #beastmoves”.
When fully fit, Antonio has the potential to be one of West Ham’s most devastating attacking outlets. He offers something different to the other players with his direct approach, aerial presence, power and speed.
Antonio can be a real handful for defences and West Ham are missing that injection of pace from the bench. Hammers supporters are hoping that Antonio makes a swift recovery and gets back to his best for the second half of the season.
