West Ham United’s forgotten man Xande Silva has been pictured back in training with the club.
The 22-year-old Portuguese striker underwent emergency surgery on his stomach in the summer (whufc.com).
West Ham reported that Silva faced ‘a long road to recovery’ after suffering significant weight loss.
Every cloud has a Silva lining
As a result the forward was not been named in former manager Manuel Pellegrini’s 25-man squad for the first half of the Premier League season.
But West Ham and Silva were boosted yesterday when the highly-rated forward finally returned to training.
Silva was pictured all smiles sporting a new blonde hairstyle as he returned to the West Ham training pitches.

According to widespread reports Silva will soon be joined at West Ham by fellow Portuguese youngster Gedson Fernandes.

Silva set to be joined by another Portuguese starlet
Following the capture of Silva last January, West Ham have also signed attacker Mesaque Dju and defender Goncalo Cardoso.
The Portuguese signings are a result of a project spearheaded by Dave Sullivan, the son of co-owner David.
That’s according to Football Insider, which claims Sullivan junior played a big role in the Fernandes transfer.
