West Ham United travel to Wales to face Newport County in the League Cup on Tuesday night.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side go into the game rejuvenated by their first win of the season at Watford on Saturday.
West Ham ran out 3-1 winners in an end-to-end tussle at Vicarage Road.
The Hammers now turn their attentions to Newport, who sit fifth in League Two after a 1-0 win over Crewe at the weekend.
They say never change a winning team if you can help it.
Pellegrini to make sweeping changes
But Pellegrini looks set to make as many as EIGHT changes to the West Ham side which started against Watford.
Most Premier League teams will make changes. That has been the status quo for some time.
However West Ham will not be involved in a relegation battle this season and probably don’t have enough to really push for the top six either.
Supporters are demanding Pellegini gives his all to the cup competitions as they represent a realistic chance of success.
So is the Chilean taking too much of a risk by making so many changes?
Worth the risk?
Second choice goalkeeper Roberto will come in for Lukasz Fabianski while fullbacks Ryan Fredericks and Arthur Masuaku will be replaced by Pablo Zabaleta and Aaron Cresswell.
Mark Noble, after only just returning from injury, will drop out for Robert Snodgrass.
Pablo Fornals comes in for Andriy Yarmolenko while Jack Wilshere will replace Manuel Lanzini.
Two up front as Ajeti gets debut
Javier Hernandez will miss the game as he is out of action until Wednesday according to Pellegrini.
The Chilean will switch to two strikers as Michail Antonio and new signing Albian Ajeti get the nod.
It will make for an interesting watch for West Ham fans.
And the Hammers should have far too much quality for their opponents.
But if things do not go according to plan, the fact Pellegrini has made so many changes will be used as a stick to beat him with.
Predicted West Ham XI to play Newport:
Roberto, Zabaleta, Diop, Ogbonna, Cresswell, Snodgrass, Rice, Wilshere, Fornals, Antonio, Ajeti.
