Blackburn Rovers have adapted to life in the Championship well since their return and a large reason for that is the form of Bradley Dack.
The English playmaker is being chased by a host of clubs in the top two tiers of English football and West Ham are among them.
We’ve taken a look at the current likelihood he will join the Hammers as well as what he would bring to the London Stadium.
Will he join?
The latest odds from Ladbrokes claim that eight teams are in the running to land Dack; and nobody is odds-on.
The 2/1 favourites to sign the midfielder are Championship high-fliers West Brom; with a host of Premier League clubs in close pursuit.
Leicester are 3/1, Fulham are 10/3, strugglers Newcastle are 4/1 and high-flying Wolves are 9/2. Managerless Aston Villa are 9/2 with Everton 5/1.
Currently eighth in the running are Manuel Pellegrini’s side, at 6/1.
What would Dack add?
Dack is already enjoying an impressive campaign in the second tier. He has eight goals in all competitions and is becoming something of a talisman for Tony Mowbray’s side.
Goalscoring midfielders are becoming something of a dying art; Dack combines that efficiency in front of goal with a style of football that excites fans.
However, it remains to be seen whether he could make the jump up to the top flight; and the host of clubs in the race for Dack’s signature is only going to push the price up.
That said, Pellegrini is facing a midfield injury crisis of sorts so could be tempted to force himself ahead of some other suitors in the hunt for Dack; but it would be a gamble.
