The international break has come at the perfect time for West Ham United player Maxwel Cornet.
West Ham winger Maxwel Cornet has really struggled with injuries since October last year, and he has barely featured for the Hammers since regaining full fitness back in March.

Hammers boss David Moyes brought Cornet to the London Stadium from Burnley for around £17.5 million in the summer of 2022.

However, it’s clear to see that he hasn’t had the impact that was expected of him over the past 12 months.
And I reckon that may end up being a blessing in disguise for both him and West Ham…
Maxwel Cornet could now make a complete U-turn at West Ham after the international break
The 26-year-old played 69 minutes for Ivory Coast last week and was used as a left wing-back by The Elephants manager Jean-Louis Gasset.
Those minutes were much needed by Cornet – he has only played 620 minutes for the Hammers since moving to the London Stadium 13 months ago.
The Ivorian needs to start showing Moyes what he’s capable of in training now. He’s stuck at the London Stadium until January at least, so why not make a big effort to make an impact?

He could be used in rotation with Emerson Palmieri as a left wing-back, or as competition and cover for Said Benrahma on the left wing.
Maxwel Cornet has pace to burn and his direct playing style should make a big difference for West Ham.
Moyes obviously signed him for a reason. I’m just hoping that he’s given the chance to prove himself. If he is, then the onus will be on him to show what he’s got.
The international break came at the perfect time for the former Burnley man. It should have enabled him to reset and go again.
I still believe that Cornet can turn things around at the London Stadium.
