West Ham were far from their best against Crystal Palace today, but it could be argued that they still didn’t deserve to lose the match.

Not every Hammers player was on their best form, but some were worse than others.

Aaron Cresswell found himself the target of criticism from large sections of the West Ham fanbase.

The 30-year-old has been a consistent performer for the Hammers since moving to east London from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2014, for a fee believed to be worth £3.75 million, according to the Sun.

Cresswell has performed well in spurts this season, but he is simply not consistent enough.

The Liverpool-born left-back lacks any kind of pace whatsoever, and he is often found wanting from a defensive perspective.

A real problem for West Ham, however, is that they only have Arthur Masuaku as competition for Cresswell. And the Congolese left-back has been far from convincing since joining the club three-and-a-half years ago.

The Hammers man really needs to improve if he is to convince Manuel Pellegrini that he is worthy of his place week-in, week-out.

Some West Ham fans took to Twitter and ripped into the 30-year-old for his display against Palace today…
