Arsenal want to sign West Ham centre-back Issa Diop in the summer, according to a report from the Mirror, and some Hammers fans have taken to Twitter in reaction to the speculation.

The 23-year-old joined the east London outfit from Toulouse in the summer of 2018 for around £22.5 million (The Mirror).

Diop has gone on to make 64 appearances for West Ham, racking up five goals in the process (Transfermarkt).

And despite the odd period of inconsistency and poor form, the young Frenchman has impressed on the most part with the Hammers.

It will be interesting to see West Ham’s stance if Arsenal do in fact offer somewhere around £45 million for the centre-back in the summer.

Sky Sports claimed in December that the Hammers won’t sell Diop for anything less than £50 million.

He could be a very important player for West Ham in the future, however.

And some Hammers fans took to Twitter in reaction to the speculation suggesting that Diop is a target for Arsenal…
