ExWHUemployee claimed that West Ham are once again keen on signing CSKA Moscow forward Fyodor Chalov, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Tuesday, January 21st), and some Hammers fans seemed totally unimpressed by the regurgitated rumour.
The east London outfit are extremely light in the attacking department. And David Moyes will surely be keen to bring in an established goalscorer this month.
Whether Chalov is the man for the job, however, is debatable.
The 21-year-old has no experience of football outside of Russia. So the jump up in quality and intensity into the Premier League might be hard for him to acclimatise to.
He has hardly been prolific this season either, with just six goals to his name in 25 appearances for CSKA.
However, it could be argued that bringing in Chalov would be better than signing nobody at all.
The Hammers have been linked with the Russian since this time last year. ExWHUemployee has claimed on multiple occasions before that West Ham want to sign the striker.
And some Hammers fans were not impressed upon hearing the same old links this month…
this is getting old now…

Great last season struggled this season Ekambi on loan with option would of been great so well rounded quick gets in behind link well with Haller.
Chalov has talent but I remember a whole deal about them not wanting to sign from Russian league when Moyes was here.

We were in retested between feb19 and summer 19. Weird isn’t it, that two different managers have the same transfer targets
