West Ham were quite simply humiliated by Oxford United in the Carabao Cup last night.

The Hammers lost 4-0 to the League One side. And many of the club’s fans were seething with their side’s performance.

West Ham actually went into the game on the back of a fine run of form.

They hadn’t lost a game since the opening day of the season, and that was against Manchester City.

The east London outfit were just not up to the task last night, however, as arguably their best chance to win a trophy slipped through their fingers.

Nathan Holland was given a chance to impress by Manuel Pellegrini at the Kassam Stadium.

The 21-year-old was replaced by Sebastien Haller in the 57th minute, however.

It seemed like a strange decision from the Chilean at the time. Holland was actually one of West Ham’s most impressive players.

And some Hammers fans took to Twitter in defence of the young winger’s display…
