West Ham were beaten 2-1 by Crystal Palace at the London Stadium yesterday.
The Hammers had a great chance to climb up to third spot in the Premier League table with a win against the Eagles.
And they seemed to be in a great position from which to do just that. Sebastien Haller gave West Ham the lead early in the second-half.
Palace equalised in the 63rd minute through a Patrick van Aanholt penalty , however. They then went on to win the game with Jordan Ayew striking in the 87th minute.

When the score was tied at 1-1, Manuel Pellegrini decided to bring Jack Wilshere on in place of Andriy Yarmolenko in the 78th minute.
And many West Ham fans were baffled by the Chilean’s decision…

We need to get the ball out wide more this sub will not help that so I take it we are going to play for the 1-1 🤷♂️

Worst sub I’ve ever seen

It seemed as though the Hammers needed more width to break Palace down. So bringing on the 27-year-old midfielder was a strange move at the time.
And it proved to be a totally ineffectual substitution. Wilshere is clearly not the player he once was.
Pellegrini seems like he is not ready to give up on Wilshere just yet, however.
