West Ham suffered a shock loss to Oxford United in the Carabao Cup last night.
There were plenty of Hammers players who quite simply just didn’t show up.
One player in particular was the target of heavy criticism from the West Ham fans, however.
Carlos Sanchez, who earns £50,000 per week according to Spotrac, put in a woeful display against Oxford.
The Colombia international joined the Hammers from Fiorentina in the summer of 2018, for a fee believed to be worth £4 million, according to the Sun.
The 33-year-old has been nothing short of a total flop at the London Stadium, however. He has made just 13 appearances for West Ham. And it is no exaggeration to say that he has failed to impress in all of those outings.
Sanchez seems to be nowhere near the level required to succeed in England. He even looked off the pace against League One side Oxford last night.
And some West Ham fans took to Twitter after the game, slating the South American for his woeful display at the Kassam Stadium…
Holland was our best player in the first half. Why him and Wilshire were brought off I don’t know? Sanchez embarrasing again.

Get rid of Sanchez or destroy the club

was same when we had Obiang in midfield, no excuse the likes of him Wilshere and Sanchez should be dominating against such opposition

Ex the back 4 were all poor; Sanchez & Snods were shocking.Wilshere ran in circles.1st half Holland got in some good positions but could not get the final ball through. I would have kept Holland on & taken off Fornals who was very disappointing. Typical #WHUFC in the cup though

The bigger problem is the first team won’t feel under any pressure to perform as there doesn’t seem to be much competition. With Reid and Balbuena we are lacking in centre halves. Sanchez was just a terrible signing. Masuaka lacks focus. Fornals struggling. Ajeti???

Can i write off Carlos Sanchez?

Not his fault at all – just shows how bad our fringe players are….Sanchez is terrible, Balbuena’s form has nose-dived, Ajeti is worse than Hugill, shoddy looks disenterested…the list goes on!
