Sam Allardyce offered high words of praise for West Ham ace Mark Noble, when speaking exclusively to talkSPORT, labelling the midfielder as ‘incredible’.
The 32-year-old has been with the Hammers for his entire career, apart from two short loan spells away from the club with Hull City and Ipswich Town respectively.
He is so important to West Ham, and despite his advancing years, he is undoubtedly still one of the first names on Manuel Pellegrini’s team-sheet.
He might not be the quickest, or the strongest, but Noble makes the Hammers tick. And he is Pellegrini’s on-field lieutenant.
The Canning Town-born ace has made 473 appearances for the east London outfit. And there are surely still plenty more to come for the experienced midfielder.
Allardyce spoke exclusively to talkSPORT, and highlighted just how important Noble is to West Ham:
“Everything rubs off on Mark Noble. He’s obviously a talented footballer. He might look like he’s 5ft 8in, but he stands at 6ft 4in every time he puts on that West Ham shirt, because he’s proud to play for that football club. He’s obviously not the quickest. His knowledge of the game is incredible, though, so whatever he loses in terms of speed he makes up with his brain which moves him into positions other players wouldn’t have thought of getting into.”
If Noble is fit, he plays. His passing ability and leadership skills provide Pellegrini with something that he doesn’t otherwise possess. The 32-year-old’s consistency levels over the past decade or so have been really impressive.
West Ham seem like they could achieve some real success over the next few years, and if they do, Noble will undoubtedly be a huge part of that.
