According to a report from Claret and Hugh, West Ham could opt to terminate Martin Samuelsen’s contract by mutual consent, when he returns back to the London Stadium in December.
The 22-year-old is currently on loan with FK Haugesund.
Samuelsen joined the Hammers from Manchester City’s academy in the summer of 2014. And much was expected of the then 17-year-old.
His career has stagnated badly in east London, however. And his contract with West Ham expires in the summer of 2020.
Claret and Hugh claims that the Hammers will try to sell the Norway under-21 international in January and if they are unsuccessful in doing that, they could opt to terminate his contract by mutual consent.
If this report is true, Samuelsen obviously faces a very bleak future at the London Stadium. It is hard to pinpoint where it all went wrong for the Norwegian.
Manuel Pellegrini is certainly not a big fan of the winger. And if West Ham do try to cancel his contract, it will prove just how low he is regarded by the Chilean.
And considering his undoubted talent, the Hammers could be made to regret that decision.
