According to Football.London, David Moyes has been absolutely thrilled with one West Ham youngster’s rise to prominence this season.
Not too many people outside the London Stadium had heard of Hammers starlet Jeremy Ngakia last season.
The 19-year-old burst onto the scene at the end of January, however, and has quickly made a name for himself in the Premier League.
The West Ham teenager has only played four Premier League games in his fledgling career thus far.
But he has impressed massively.
In those four outings for the Hammers, Ngakia has racked up 12 tackles, six interceptions, 13 clearances and 13 ball recoveries. He has also won 24 individual duals (premierleague.com).
And Football.London claims that the youngster’s fine form has surprised West Ham boss David Moyes.
Ngakia obviously still has a lot of work to do before he can be classed as a top class player. But the early signs are very good.
He hasn’t seemed to be overawed one little bit by playing against Premier League big boys Liverpool and Arsenal.
And it seems as thought West Ham have a real talent on their hands for the future.
