According to a report from Claret and Hugh, Manuel Pellegrini could opt to start Jack Wilshere for West Ham’s clash with Tottenham on Saturday.
The 27-year-old joined the Hammers on a free transfer in the summer of 2018. He has really struggled to establish himself at the London Stadium, however.
Wilshere has made just 16 appearances for West Ham, and he has racked up just one goal and one assist.
The 34-capped England international hasn’t played for the Hammers since mid-October, with his injury problems continuing to wreak havoc on his career.
He is back in training and fully fit now, however.
And according to Claret and Hugh, Wilshere could be given the nod to start against Spurs this weekend, if Mark Noble fails to recover from injury in time.
During Wilshere’s time with Arsenal, he became some what of a hate figure amongst the Tottenham fans.
And the feeling was mutual.
So he will surely be relishing the chance to get one over the Lilywhites.
On his day, the 27-year-old is a top player, but it just depends which Jack Wilshere shows up.
And if he starts on Saturday, West Ham fans will be hoping that the midfielder’s previous rivalry with Spurs will bring the best out of him.
