West Ham United entertain Manchester United at the London Stadium on Sunday.

Manuel Pellegrini’s side got the season off to a terrible start with a 5-0 drubbing to the Red Devils’ Manchester rivals City.

But West Ham are unbeaten since and being tipped to challenge the top six.

The Hammers drew 0-0 with Aston Villa on Monday night despite going down to 10 men for the last 27 minutes.

West Ham backed for top six tilt

With the Premier League looking wide open this year, transitional clubs such as Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are said to be under threat from the likes of West Ham, Leicester and Everton.

Pellegrini will want to see his side continue to play ‘like a big team’ and try to dictate the game.

The Hammers are level on points with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side and could find themselves in the top four with a win.

Key to West Ham’s recent form has been keeping a settled side.

But that won’t be possible for Sunday’s game.

Pellegrini to make two changes for Red Devils

That’s because Pellegrini will be forced into at least one change and looks set to make another too.

Arthur Masuaku’s sending off against Villa means he misses out.

Veteran Pablo Zabaltea will replace him as he did for the last half an hour at Villa Park.

Pellegrini has little other choice. But it is a risk on two fronts.

The 34-year-old Argentine is not getting any younger and will be playing out of position.

Add into the mix the fact Zabaleta will be facing one of the quickest players in the Premier League in Dan James and the Hammers suddenly look vulnerable.

£24million man to replace jaded Yarmo?

Pellegrini also looks set to replace Andriy Yarmolenko with £24million summer signing Pablo Fornals.

Yarmolenko spent most of last season out through injury. And he look jaded against Villa while Fornals impressed with his second half display.

The Fornals change is also a big risk. There are big expectations on the young star’s shoulders.

So far he has only been dipped in and out of the West Ham side. This will be his big chance and against a top six side like Manchester United it won’t be easy.

Predicted West Ham XI to face Manchester United

Fabianski, Fredericks, Diop, Ogbonna, Zabaleta, Noble, Rice, Lanzini, Anderson, Fornals, Haller.
