West Ham United have been likened to a popular chocolate treat by Sky Sports pundit Paul Merson.
The Hammers travel to fierce rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday knowing they can make a bit of history.
Manuel Pellegrini’s side are aiming to become the first away team to score and win at Tottenham’s glorious new stadium.
They have previous in north London too.
Hammers have previous
West Ham were the last away team to win at Arsenal’s beloved Highbury. And they followed that up by being the first team to beat the Gunners at the Emirates.
The trouble is they are often a problem for their own fans too because you never know which West Ham will turn up.
Merson likens West Ham to bag of Revels
That’s according to Merson who told Sky Sports West Ham are the Premier League’s answer to a bag of Revels.
And while the Arsenal legend feels Spurs could be distracted by their Champions League semi-final next week, he is backing them to edge a 2-1 win.
“It’ll be hard for Tottenham, with one eye on next week, they’ve got to,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime thing, in my opinion.
Pellegrini gets midfielder boost as he plots changes
“With the scores across the last week, they’re only a win away from the top four. But they can’t afford any injuries before the Ajax game.
“You just don’t know what you’re going to get with West Ham. They are the Premier League bag of Revels. One minute they have to score four to beat Huddersfield, then get ripped up by Everton at home, then go to United and nearly win. It’s a strange one.”
