Mark Lawrenson predicted that Aston Villa will beat West Ham on Monday night, when writing his regular column for BBC Sport.
The Hammers have started their 2019/20 campaign in fine fashion. Despite losing heavily to Manchester City on the opening day, they have taken seven points from four games, and they sit in seventh spot in the table.
Villa, meanwhile, have struggled.
Dean Smith’s side have won one and lost three of their opening four Premier League games. And they currently sit in 18th spot in the table.
Villa Park will be buzzing on Monday night, however, and West Ham will have their work cut-out, if they are to return to east London with maximum points.
Both sides are incredibly attacking. So there should be a wonderfully exciting game of football on display at Villa Park.
And Lawrenson believes that the home side will take the spoils, as quoted by BBC Sport:
“Aston Villa have only got three points to show from their first four games, but I have seen plenty of encouraging signs from Dean Smith’s side. West Ham are improving too, and are unbeaten since the opening day, with new signing Sebastien Haller getting among the goals. This one will be close, but I am going to go with Villa to make their home advantage count.”
West Ham can climb inside the top four with a win, whilst Villa will leap out of the relegation zone with maximum points.
The game kicks off at 20:00 on Monday night and can be seen exclusively live on Sky Sports.
