Manchester United are allegedly keen to sign West Ham ace Declan Rice, with the Daily Mail reporting that Ole Gunnar Solskjær sent scouts to watch the 21-year-old in action on Friday night.
But some United fans don’t want the England international, and think that he is over-hyped.
The Hammers starlet has been superb over the past 18 months, and has unquestionably been the east London outfit’s most consistent performer throughout that period.
Rice is under contract with West Ham until the summer of 2024. And he is valued at an incredible £100 million by the club, according to the Express.
Hammers fans would hate to see the seven-capped England international leave, but for that kind of money, the east London outfit would surely find it hard to resist selling him.
Some Manchester united fans took to Twitter, however, and suggested that they do not want their club to sign Rice…
Rice is another Andreas.

What do u even watch bro? As a midfielder his positional sense is horrendous. He’s never in pockets of space, he’s never available for the ball, can’t progress the ball from defence to attack on contrary turns attack to defence. He’s a horrible CDM potential CB yes but not CDM

Personally I don’t see the hype.

He ain’t a top class player, he does well in a struggling side, really struggles when has played for England so far, at United we should be looking at players better then rice, is he actually better then what we have ?
— Scott Purdie (@Scojototo) January 13, 2020
Personally I don’t think he’s that good, I’d prefer us go for Thomas Partey for half the price

He’s a water carrier. Who spills his water.

Rice is not a top class DM
We need a DM like Ndidi or Fabino, or Fernandinho

Anyone who rates Rice deserves the glazers. Overatted footballer in the caliber of Jesse Lingard.

Poor Mans Mctominay.
— Ponzi Trader (@TheElfGod) January 13, 2020
He’s overrated and would cost a huge amount,we could get better players for less
— NV (@nv__97) January 13, 2020
Literally just a McTominay copy paste, just a bit better in all areas. Could do way better
— J (@Blurb__) January 13, 2020
Literally doesn’t improve the side

Rice often does a lot of the undesirable jobs very well, and because of that, his talent regularly doesn’t attract the headlines that it should.
The 21-year-old is incredibly important to West Ham, and he will most probably become a mainstay in the England national team over the course of the next decade.
£100 million does seem to be a rather extortionate valuation, however.
And it is understandable why some Manchester United fans think that Rice is not worth that amount.
