Jack Wilshere sat down for an exclusive interview with Football.London, and raved about the quality of Pablo Fornals.
The Hammers signed the Spaniard from Villarreal for £24 million last month.
And much is expected of him at the London Stadium.
The 23-year-old is a real talent. He is a cultured midfielder, and he will undoubtedly add some much needed composure and creativity to West Ham’s midfield.
Fornals will certainly make Wilshere’s task of forcing his way into the first-team a lot harder.
The Englishman seems to be excited by that prospect, however.
“I was thinking about it the other day and we’ve signed Fornals to add to our squad and I think we’ve got a really good squad. He’s a really good player who will add to our team, he’s only 23. He’s come in for a big fee but he looks like a quality player.”
West Ham are expected to make a sustained push for the top seven in the Premier League next season.
And if Fornals plays to his full potential, they will every chance of doing just that.
Wilshere himself could have a big role to play for the Hammers too.
The former Arsenal man will be desperate to maintain his fitness this season, and if he can do that, it will be yet another huge boost for West Ham boss Manuel Pellegrini.
