According to ExWHUemployee, West Ham are making significant progress in their pursuit of FC Basel forward Albian Ajeti.
The Hammers are in desperate need of another established forward.
Manuel Pellegrini has brought in Sebastien Haller, but it must be remembered that West Ham have lost four forwards, with Marko Arnautovic, Andy Carroll, Lucas Perez and Jordan Hugill all leaving this summer.
And Ajeti could be just the ticket for the Hammers.
The 22-year-old was in fine form for Basel last season. He racked up 21 goals and 11 assists in 43 appearances in all competitions.
He can play anywhere along the front-line, and would add another layer of depth to West Ham’s attacking options.
There has been talk that two other clubs are prepared to offer more for Ajeti than the Hammers are, however.
The player allegedly prefers a move to the London Stadium, though.
And ExWHUemployee suggested via Twitter that he expects a deal to sign Ajeti to be done today:
I expect that this deal will be completed today 👏🏻🇨🇭 https://t.co/QjeYM1s7Gs

And if West Ham can secure a deal to sign the Switzerland international before tomorrow’s 5pm deadline, it could turn out to be a really significant addition for the east London outfit.
