ExWHUemployee has confirmed that the mystery forward who West Ham are after is FC Basel ace Albian Ajeti.

The Hammers are a bit light in the centre-forward department, with Sebastien Haller and Javier Hernandez being Manuel Pellegrini’s only striking options.

The problem for West Ham, however, is that they have already spent the majority of their transfer budget, so Manuel Pellegrini will have to be thrifty in his recruitment.

Well-informed club insider ExWHUemployee claimed earlier today that the east London outfit were eyeing a move for a mystery forward:

He then confirmed later that the player in question is in fact Ajeti:

And the Swiss ace could be just the ticket for the Hammers.

The 22-year-old has bagged an impressive 43 goals and 21 assists in 96 appearances for Basel.

Ajeti can play anywhere along the front-line, and standing at just over 6ft tall, he is decent in the air too.

Quite how much West Ham will have to pay for the seven-capped Switzerland international, however, remains to be seen.
