ExWHUemployee suggested that the West Ham players are due to return to training on April 10th, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, March 25th).

With country in lockdown, and the coronavirus continuing to plague worldwide sports, it is currently very uncertain as to when Premier League football will resume.

The current date pencilled in for resumption of play is April 30th. But that will depend heavily on how well we can contain the virus between now and then.

And Ex claimed that the West Ham players are due to return to training three weeks before that date, when speaking on the West Ham Way podcast last night (Wednesday, March 25th):

“The players are due back into to training on the 10th of April. That’s assuming that the season is going to start when they have postponed it to. If it is delayed any longer, I guess they will delay that back.”

West Ham have some really tough fixtures remaining this season.

The break probably came at the wrong time for the Hammers. They were due to play Tottenham last Friday. And Spurs would have had Harry Kane, Heung-Min Son and Steven Bergwijn all unavailable for selection.

Tottenham will now likely have all three back when they take on West Ham, whatever date that may be.

At the end of the day though, the Hammers should only be worrying about themselves. If they produce their best form between now and the end of the season, they will be just fine.

As mentioned earlier, however, there is no guarantee that football will be up and running again at the end of next month.

Let’s just hope that the virus can be contained, and the West Ham players return to action in tip-top condition both physically and mentally.
