When speaking to reporters today, West Ham ace Declan Rice insisted that he can get even better.
And Hammers fans will surely be delighted to hear that.
The 20-year-old burst onto the scene with West Ham last season. And he was arguably their best player.
Rice displayed exemplary quality last term. The England international showcased his remarkable talent on a consistent basis, and his coolness and composure in the middle of the park was a real asset for Manuel Pellegrini’s side.
If West Ham are to go on and achieve success over the next few years, it will be vital for them to keep the youngster at the club.
Rice spoke to reporters, and suggested that if he improves the tactical side of his game, he will become an even better player, as quoted by the Hammers’ official Twitter account:
”I know I can get better for sure. Maybe going forward a bit more, my tactical side of the game; when to drop in as a centre-half and when to push up. I’m still only 20 years old. I’m learning and I’m trying to get better.”
And if the 20-year-old does go on to make big improvements this season, West Ham will have a seriously good player on their hands.
The Hammers faithful are already massive fans of Rice. And they will surely be hugely excited to hear his latest comments.
