West Ham United star Declan Rice is being linked with a mega money move this summer.
The likes of Manchester City, Manchester United and even Real Madrid have been credited with an interest in the midfield enforcer.
As a result a £70million price tag has been slapped on the 20-year-old’s head (Football Insider).
Manuel Pellegrini has been realistic over Rice’s future. The Chilean says West Ham want to keep their new star man.
Hammers sat on goldmine of Rice amid speculation
But he concedes every player has his price.
It appears the player himself is fully focused on the Hammers, though.
Speaking to the club’s website Rice admitted one aspect of West Ham’s season left him gutted despite a superb finish taking 10 points from a possible 12.
Midfield star focused on big call and West Ham
And there is only one big name manager he is hoping to hear from this summer, Gareth Southgate.
“We finished five points off seventh so if you look at it that way, it’s gutting, but it was a great season,” he told whufc.com.
“I think the lads have really worked hard and everyone deserves a really well-rested break, because people don’t really see what goes behind the scenes.
“For me personally, I don’t think I could have wished for a better season. I’m delighted to have done what I’ve done and I can’t wait to kick on again next season.
‘I want it to be a short holiday’
“Of course, I want to be in that England squad and that’s what I’m hoping.
“That’s why I want it to be a short holiday. I’ve got to be prepared for anything, but I’d be delighted with that.”
No doubt West Ham fans will be delighted too.
But not as delighted as they will be if he is still lining up in the claret and blue come August.
