West Ham United have a new goal hero in the shape of record £45million signing Sebastien Haller.
The big Frenchman got a brace in a 3-1 win at Watford on Saturday.
And he could round off a fantastic week by earning his first call-up to the senior France squad.
Haller, 25, has represented France at all age levels up to Under 21.
France squad to be named this weekend
The world champions take on Albania and Andorra next week in European Championship qualifiers.
Didier Deschamps will likely name his squad at the weekend.
And the situation at West Ham’s London rivals Chelsea, coupled with the form of the Hammers new boy could work in Haller’s favour.
Blues boy Tammy boosts Haller’s Les Bleus hopes?
Tammy Abraham has been preferred as Chelsea’s first choice striker under Blues boss and former West Ham man Frank Lampard.
That has seen France forward Olivier Giroud consigned to the bench.
Abraham could have got a couple of goals in the season opener at Old Trafford.
And he scored two superb goals in the 3-2 victory over Norwich City.
Hammers hero Haller could be heir apparent to Giroud
Haller has been likened to Giroud in France and is seen in some quarters as a natural long-term replacement for the ex-Arsenal man.
So Deschamps may see fit to use this as an opportunity to get a closer look at West Ham’s latest French star.
If the call comes Haller could well link up with former Hammers star Dimitri Payet.
